Profile build and verification
Category selection, service lists, hours, attributes, photos, and getting through verification. Verification is where treatment providers stall, usually because the address is residential or unpublished.
Healthcare local SEO, because patients start within driving distance.
Families search for help close to home, and the map pack sits above every organic result on that search. Ranking your locations there is a different job than ranking a website, and for treatment providers it carries rules nobody else deals with.
The short answer
Healthcare local SEO is the work of ranking a clinic or facility in Google's map pack for searches inside its service area. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance, and prominence, so the work is a Google Business Profile that matches the search, a verified address near the searcher, and a location page and review base strong enough to signal prominence. Multi-location providers need one profile, one page, and one tracked number per address. Residential programs that cannot publish a street address verify as service-area businesses instead.

What it includes
Category selection, service lists, hours, attributes, photos, and getting through verification. Verification is where treatment providers stall, usually because the address is residential or unpublished.
One page per location, with the profile pointing at it and the page pointing back. Shared or templated location pages are the most common reason a second and third location never rank.
A request cadence that runs on its own, plus response templates written so a public reply never confirms that someone was a patient.
Name, address, and phone consistency across the directories Google reads, including the treatment-specific ones like SAMHSA's locator and Psychology Today.
Old profiles from previous owners, closed locations, and practitioner listings left behind by departed clinicians. These split your ranking signals and take weeks to unwind.
A tracked number on every profile and every location page, so you know which location the call came from and which search produced it.
Google's guidelines require a business to be verified at an address staffed during its stated hours. Residential programs frequently cannot meet that as written. The house is not signed, the clinical office is somewhere else, and publishing the address of a residence full of patients is a privacy decision, not a marketing one. The fix is usually a service-area configuration run off the administrative office, with the residence never listed. That decision changes what you can rank for, so it gets made deliberately rather than discovered after a suspension.
Suspensions are common in this category. Keyword-stuffed business names, addresses at a virtual office, and profiles inherited from a prior owner all trigger them. Reinstatement takes documentation Google asks for on its own schedule, which is why we would rather set a profile up correctly than appeal one.
Reviews carry more weight in the map pack than almost anything else you control, and behavioral health providers underuse them because the obvious way to reply discloses protected health information. Writing back "thanks for trusting us with your treatment" confirms a person received care. Programs covered by 42 CFR Part 2 sit under a stricter rule than HIPAA on anything connected to substance use treatment.
So responses get written to acknowledge the feedback without acknowledging the relationship, and they get written once, in advance, so the front desk is not improvising. Requests go to the people you can ask cleanly: alumni who have opted in, families, referral partners, and staff-adjacent contacts.
Review gating, where you screen for a good rating before asking publicly, violates Google's policy and gets reviews stripped. We do not run it.
Two locations in the same metro will fight each other. Both target the same city term, both pull from the same review pool, and Google shows one of them. Splitting them by level of care, by neighborhood, or by program type is the difference between two ranking assets and one plus a decoy.
Measurement is per location, not per site. We track map pack position on a geographic grid around each address, because a single average rank hides how fast you disappear four miles out. Then calls get attributed by location, so you can see which sites produce admissions and which carry overhead.

We audit your rankings, ads, and call tracking, then show you where admissions are leaking. Yours to keep either way.

Who we help
Fourteen years in behavioral health, all of it spent getting rehab centers on the phone with people who need a bed. We know your competitors, we know which searches produce a call, and we know which ones only produce a report.
Somebody decides to stop drinking at 11pm. Whoever comes up in the results and answers the phone gets the admission, and we build the system that does both.
A recovery residence sells housing, not a treatment episode, so the number that decides the year is occupancy. Demand arrives from two directions, and most sober living websites are built for only one of them.
We market outpatient mental health, PHP, and IOP programs. Different searcher than rehab, different ad rules, same job: make the phone ring and know which dollar made it ring.
We work with group practices and psychology offices that have outgrown a directory profile. The goal is a caseload of the clients you want to see, at the fee you want to charge, calling you instead of a listing.
A practice needs a specific number of new patient calls a month to hold its panel size and its payer mix. We build to that number, report against it, and tell you when the channel stops producing it.

FAQ
Yes, as a service-area business verified at an administrative address. You lose some proximity advantage because Google will not pin you to the residence, and you can hide the street address on the public profile. For residential programs this is almost always the right trade.
No. One site with a real page per location, each with its own content, photos, staff, and tracked phone number. Separate microsites split your authority and create duplicate profiles that compete with each other.
Without confirming they were one. Thank them for the feedback, state your general commitment, and move the specifics to a phone number or email. Confirming treatment in a public reply discloses protected health information, and for substance use programs 42 CFR Part 2 applies on top of HIPAA.
Usually, but it takes time and it is unpredictable. Reinstatement runs on documentation Google requests and a review queue with no published timeline. Expect weeks, not days. The faster path is often a correctly built new profile at a compliant address.
Profile fixes and category corrections often show inside two to four weeks, because Google re-crawls profiles quickly. Building enough review volume and location page authority to hold a competitive metro takes longer, typically typical time to map pack position for a competitive metro — verify with Tim.
