Wellness Coach Marketing

Wellness coach marketing, because followers are not clients.

Coaching closes on a call, and the buyer decides whether to book one after weeks of reading. We build the search visibility and the booking path that turn that reader into a call.

The short answer

Wellness coach marketing sells a program, not a visit. Buyers book a discovery call after weeks of reading, and the deciding factor is whether the coach looks credible and specific. Coaching is unlicensed in most states, so a credential like NBC-HWC from the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching carries weight in copy. Two limits apply. State dietetics and nutrition laws restrict individualized nutrition advice in some states, and Meta prohibits before and after body images and ads implying negative self-perception. Growth comes from search, a list you own, and one social channel run properly.

The generalist coach is invisible

Health coach is not a search anybody makes with intent to buy. Perimenopause weight gain coach, coach for autoimmune fatigue, and habit coach for shift workers are. The coaches who fill programs picked a person and a problem and said it out loud on every page.

Most coaching sites do the opposite. They open with a philosophy, a hero shot, and the word transformation. Nothing on the page tells a reader this is for her specifically, so she keeps reading and books a call with somebody who said it plainly.

The audience is built on rented land

Instagram and TikTok make the audience feel real. Then the reach drops, or the account gets restricted for a weight loss claim, and the calls stop the same week.

Search and your own list are the two assets nobody can take. Search brings people already looking for the thing you fix. The list is where four weeks of consideration happen, because a discovery call is a large ask from someone who found you yesterday.

One more advantage most coaches never use: unless you bill insurance you are usually not a HIPAA covered entity, so conversion tracking and retargeting that a treatment center cannot legally run are open to you. That is a real edge over the clinics competing for the same reader.

Wellness Coach Marketing: how we run it for health and wellness coaches

01

Positioning the offer to one buyer

A named person, a named problem, and a named outcome, carried through every page. This moves conversion further than any traffic work we could do.

02

Search content on the problem, not the method

People search their symptom and their situation, never your framework. We build pages for the questions they type at night and route every one of them to the same call.

03

A list you own and a nurture sequence

A lead magnet worth the address, then a sequence that answers the objections a discovery call would answer. For most coaches we work with, this is where the enrollments come from.

04

Booking path and call tracking

Direct calendar booking with a qualifying form, tracked back to the page and channel that produced it. You should know which post created every call on the calendar.

05

One social channel, run deliberately

Pick the channel your buyer is on and post to turn readers into subscribers instead of chasing reach. One channel run well beats three run badly.

Compliance

The rules that apply to this category

This is the part that catches agencies who have not worked in this category before.

Scope of practice and nutrition licensure

Health coaching is unlicensed in most states, but several states regulate nutrition and dietetics practice. Providing individualized meal plans or nutrition counseling can require licensure in states like Florida and Ohio. Copy promising a custom nutrition protocol is the piece that draws complaints.

Diagnosis and treatment language

A coach cannot diagnose, treat, or cure. Copy that says heal your thyroid or reverse your diabetes crosses from coaching into practicing medicine and triggers the FTC substantiation standard for health claims. We rewrite these into what the program does.

Meta ad rules on body image and weight loss

Meta prohibits before and after images, close-ups of isolated body parts, and ads implying negative self-perception. Weight loss ads must also be age-restricted. That rules out the exact creative most coaches want to run, so we build the ad around the person and the problem instead.

FTC endorsement and review rules

Testimonials require disclosure of any material connection, results claims have to reflect what people generally achieve, and the FTC's rule on fake and incentivized reviews carries civil penalties. Screenshot testimonials without context are the common violation.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Do I need a certification to market myself as a coach?

In most states, no. It still matters, because NBC-HWC through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching is the credential buyers and referring clinicians recognize. If you have it, it belongs above the fold. If you do not, we lead with results and specialization.

Should I run ads or build organic first?

Organic and the list first, for most coaches. Ads amplify an offer that already converts and waste money on one that does not. If you cannot fill a discovery call calendar from the list you have, paid traffic will not fix it.

How long before this produces clients?

Positioning and offer changes can move conversion within weeks, because they work on traffic you already have. Search takes four to eight months to produce steady call volume. Coaches who need revenue this quarter should start with the list they already own.

Can I use client before and after photos?

Not in Meta ads, which prohibit them outright. On your own site you can, with disclosure and a results-not-typical statement that reflects what clients generally achieve. The FTC has been active here, and screenshot testimonials are the usual problem.

Is Quantum the right agency for a solo coach?

Often not. Our best-fit client spends $10,000 a month on SEO, and the work is built for practices and programs at that size. If you are pre-revenue or nowhere near that number, we will say so on the first call and point you somewhere better.
